Introduction to Total Loss Cover

Welcome to the Total Loss Cover page, where we provide comprehensive protection for your most valued possessions during transit. At Express Movers, we understand that your belongings are more than just items – they represent memories, investments, and the foundation of your new journey. That’s why we offer our Total Loss Cover to give you peace of mind and financial security in the rare event of a complete loss.

Our standard Total Loss Cover provides up to £25,000 for all clients. You also have the option to upgrade your coverage to higher limits:

This policy ensures that in the unfortunate case of fire, theft, water damage, or other total-loss scenarios affecting the entire vehicle and its contents, you’ll have the necessary coverage to recover and rebuild.

Note:

Please note that our Total Loss Cover is designed to safeguard your items against catastrophic events and does not extend to damages or breakages caused during transit. The policy strictly adheres to our Prohibited and Restricted Items list, and claims will only be valid for items explicitly declared on your inventory.

Total Loss Cover

This Total Loss Cover will provide coverage for the total loss of goods during transportation, subject to the terms and conditions outlined below. Optional upgrades increase the maximum coverage to £50,000, £75,000, or £100,000, for the premiums listed above.

1. Policy Overview

1.1 Coverage: Provides coverage for total loss of goods in transit, including but not limited to loss due to vehicle theft, fire, water damage, or total destruction of the vehicle and its contents.

1.2 Maximum Coverage: Up to £100,000 depending on the selected upgrade.

1.3 Exclusions: Does not cover damages, partial losses, breakages, or losses caused by customs inspections. For such coverage, please refer to our Goods In Transit Contractual Liability. (link here).

2. Items Covered

2.1 Only items explicitly listed on the inventory at the time of booking.

2.2 Items excluded from coverage include those listed in the Standard Prohibited and Restricted Items (link here).

2.3 Items not declared on the shipping declaration form are not covered.

3. Conditions of Coverage

3.1 All items must be appropriately packaged and secured.

3.2 A detailed and accurate inventory must be provided.

3.3 Declared values must reflect the actual value of goods, supported by receipts or proof of purchase.

4. Claims Process

4.1 Notification: Notify the Company within 48 hours of becoming aware of the total loss.

4.2 Documentation Required:

• Copy of the inventory

• Proof of purchase and value

• Police report (if applicable)

• Any other documentation requested by the Company

4.3 Depreciation Model:

• Year 0: 50% of purchase price

• Year 1: 25%

• Year 2: 12.5%

• Year 3: 6.25%

4.4 Processing Time: Claims processed within 30 working days of receiving all required documentation.

4.5 Payouts: Will not exceed the declared value of goods or selected coverage limit, whichever is lower.

5. Premium and Payment

5.1 One-time premium according to selected coverage: see table above.

5.2 Payment must be made in full prior to transportation.

6. Limitations and Exclusions

6.1 Does not cover:

• Items in Standard Prohibited and Restricted Items

• Losses due to natural disasters, war, or civil unrest

• Losses caused by client failure to follow packaging/declaration requirements

• Goods while being stored (see Goods In Transit Contractual Liability)

6.2 The Company is not liable for losses from delays or customs inspections.

7. Termination of Coverage

7.1 Policy terminates upon:

• Successful delivery

• Cancellation of transportation by the Client

• Arrival at a warehouse

7.2 Premium is non-refundable once coverage has commenced.

8. Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of UK courts.

9. Client Acknowledgment

By purchasing this Policy, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.

Insurance Coverage Upgrade

If you wish to upgrade your coverage, please request the appropriate form from our office by emailing [email protected].

Once received, we will issue an invoice to you directly. Please ensure payment is made and cleared prior to collection, as no upgrade can be processed until payment has been received and you have been emailed written confirmation from us.
